Crankworx Slopestyle and De La Soul
July 29, 2006
The legendary Slopestyle event today did not disappoint. Whistler Village was packed with 24,000 spectators and the competitors pulled out their best tricks for the crowd. De La Soul burst onto the stage as the last rider came off the jump and the crowd went crazy. It was such a thrill to be part of all that energy and excitement.
Crankworx entertainment
July 28, 2006
Kristen Robinson organized an impressive line up of free entertainment on the Crankworx mainstage. This week I’ve seen Catlow, Etwinz, an awesome 10-piece Mexican reggae band called Rastrillos and Vancouver’s own killer hip hop band, Sweatshop Union. Tomorrow is the legendary De La Soul and I’ve spent the day getting their rider and transportation organized. I’ll be hosting them in the green room at the Westin. Can’t wait to meet these guys, they’ve been one of my favourite bands ever since their first album in 1988. Eleven albums later, they are still rockin’ the house.

Crankworx website update
July 27, 2006
My portable office at the Hilton has been great – right in the heart of all the Crankworx action. Web updates have been efficient and relatively immediate. Added new photos to the splash page as well.

Kokanee Crankworx program guide
July 24, 2006
The program guide for Kokanee Crankworx was delivered last week for distribution. Picked up a copy today and am happy to see the finished piece. My supplier in MB does an awesome job a fraction of the prices charged in the city for offset printing.

Kokanee Crankworx Whistler July 22-30
July 21, 2006
Kokanee Crankworx is North America’s premier freeride mountain biking extravaganza — nine days of events, entertainment and the most insane riding on the planet. It all takes place in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, the undisputed #1 bike park in the world. Having spent the better part of 8 months developing the branding and marketing for this event, it is absolutely incredible to see it all come together. I’m Whistler for 10 days to help manage the day-to-day tasks and make daily website updates. Just strolled through the Village, and all the banners and signage looks great.
